KELSO, 560 tons, left London 2/7/1849 and arrived at Port Chalmers, via the north, 20/11/1849. Captain John Innes; Dr Francis Longbourne Vickerman, surgeon, who afterwards settled in Nelson. The Kelso also carried passengers for Nelson (39), Wellington (2) and New Plymouth (18).

Janet née Reid; d. 1904]; James Steuart (15) [ag. runholder, auctioneer; Tuturau, Mataura; m. Jessie MacGibbon (ex Mooltan), 30/12/1862; d. 13/10/1911]; Isabella (12) [Tuturau; m. Thomas Bubb, 13/7/1860]; William (10) [Tuturau; m. Euphemia née Wilson, 23/8/1865; d. 2/4/1924]; Charles (8) [m. Agnes Campbell. Became a surveyor, later returned to England to settle.]; Andrew (6) [ag.; Mataura; m. Margaret Smith]; Henry (2) [ag. Mataura; Eleanor (aka Ellen) (11 months). Please don't ask us about Port Chalmers passenger arrivals later than 1851. Try Australia and New Zealand Passenger Lists. It's not our area of expertise. Also, please don't ask what individual passengers did after they arrived In New Zealand. All we know about them is in these lists.
